Hidalgo Place Function Room, Rockwell Center, Makati City

About

Get ready for a sensory experience this 14th of September! Professor Matthew Santamaria guides us through the “structured movements” of the Sulu Zone’s distinct dance traditions—the Tausug pangalay, the Yakan pansak, and the Sama igal—as they relate to the “structured sound” of music, costuming, and the contexts of performance. This event will surely enrich our appreciation of Southern Philippine culture in the context of the larger Southeast Asian maritime world.
